  Magazine Launch: Explore Desire with new The Erotic Review

  Join us to celebrate the (re)launch of the Erotic Review. This launch marks a new chapter in the 30-year-old British magazine's storied history. Showcasing art and writing from around the world, the Review is takes a fresh look at what the erotic is, or could be, in our lives and gives space to an open, playful and compassionate discourse about desire. Find out more about Issue 1 on the website.

  The first issue—designed by the incomparable Studio Frith and edited by Lucy Roeber (London) and Saskia Vogel (Berlin)—features work by some of the most exciting and celebrated writers and artists working today, including some of our favorite Berlin writers.

  There will be a short program of readings from contributors eliot duncan, Vijay Khurana, Jessica J. Lee, Judy Moore and Rebecca Rukeyser. Hosted by Lucy Roeber and Saskia Vogel. Merriment to follow!

  ELIOT DUNCAN is a writer living in Brooklyn. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop where he was a Truman Capote Fellow. His first novel, Ponyboy (Norton and Footnote), published in June 2023, was nominated for the National Book Award.

  VIJAY KHURANA is a fiction writer and translator from German. His debut novel, The Passenger Seat, was shortlisted for the Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize and his short fiction has been published in NOON, The Guardian, 3:AM and elsewhere. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia and is completing a doctorate in Creative and Critical Writing at Queen Mary University, London.

  JESSICA J. LEE is a British Canadian Taiwanese author and environmental historian who lives in Berlin. She is the winner of the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction, the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature, the Banff Mountain Book Award and the RBC Taylor Prize Emerging Writer Award. Her books include Turning, Two Trees Make a Forest and the children’s book A Garden Called Home, and she co-edited the essay collection Dog Hearted. Jessica is the founding editor of The Willowherb Review and teaches creative writing.

  JUDY MOORE is a multifunctional artist. She has exhibited widely including at the National Portrait Gallery, London, ICA, London, Freud Museum London, Whose Museum, Malmo, and the Museum of Communication, Berlin. She was awarded the Berlin Senate Comics Stipend for her trans memoir comic Everything is Somewhat Repaired, which was also nominated for a Best of the Net Award by The Offing. Otherwise she teaches drawing, watches monster movies and eats too much candy in Berlin.

  REBECCA RUKEYSER is the author of the novel The Seaplane on Final Approach. Her work has appeared in Granta, The Believer and Best American Nonrequired Reading, among others, and was awarded the inaugural Berlin Senate Endowment for Non-German Literature.

  

  LUCY ROEBER is the editor of the Erotic Review and the director of Erotic Review Publishing Ltd. She lives in London.

  SASKIA VOGEL is the deputy editor of the Erotic Review, an award-winning Swedish translator and the author of the novel Permission. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she lives in Berlin.
