This release event is all about the voices of student authors in Berlin! The literary anthology “und das raverpaar tanzt zum s-Bahnorchester”, published by Studierendenwerk Berlin, brings together texts from the period 2023-2025.
A dozen of the over 35 anthology authors will give insights into their writing this evening.

The texts come, for example, from the intercultural writing group “TextTransit”, which takes place every semester under changing leadership. Impressions from many other literary workshops organized by the Studententische Kulturwerk and the reading platform “Lies los! “ will also be heard. And of course, authors from the student writers-in-residence program “Berlin Stories” will also read.

We'll hear about the spiciest curry sausage, the inner beauty of roses, the coriander gene, the tenderness and coldness that go hand in hand in the big city. The diverse voices and original observations provide an insight into what is currently moving Berlin students.

Theresa Brehm and Lucie Frahm from the Kulturwerk des Studierendenwerk Berlin will moderate the evening.

Participating authors

Antonia Augsbach, born in 1999, grew up near Munich, lives and studies philosophy in Berlin. If not in the library or in the university café, you'll meet her between Soldinerstraße and Leopoldplatz. Her texts capture what Berlin is all about: student jobs at Tipico, the most beautiful darts player in town, biting dogs in smoky bars, clinking slot machines and T-shirts stolen in a roundabout way.

Natalia Dimitrova was born in Bulgaria. For me, flowers that grow through the asphalt are a symbol of strength and tenderness. I am studying German and Slavic studies at Humboldt University in Berlin. I am inspired by people and their stories — moving them to follow their inner compass with language and text is what drives me. Because everyone has something to say.

Karla Fröhlich, *2003, studies film and literature. With her head in the cloud and her feet in the city. Hungry for pictures and words. Not entirely sure which star she fell from. @artificialsilkgirl003

Vincent Kelany, born 1996, studied philosophy and law. His debut novel “Molaris' Deformities” is published by Redrum. He also writes film reviews.

Lily Kröger is currently studying art and visual history as well as European ethnology at the Humboldt University in Berlin. In her free time, she likes to write — about art, the strange moments in life, or just about anything that comes to mind. Because sometimes a bit too much comes to mind.

Quill Kukuj loves the forest. And the ink. And life. And the extraordinary thing about life. And the ordinary, which is already so common that it is extraordinary to look at it again. His works and paths range between poetry and prose, multilingualism and speechlessness; most recently, they led him to Tübingen, where he now works as an assistant director at the State Theatre.

Vivian Leutsch was born in 2000 and is currently studying philosophy at HU Berlin. For the past two years, he has been part of the theater project “Anarchy in North Berlin,” for which he also writes. In his texts, he lets images speak for themselves.

Alex Marlin Maurer (they/them) has been writing poetry and short stories for many years - and has also been putting them on stage since 2023. They are studying European Ethnology and Gender Studies. Alex finds inspiration both in their own queer life and in the small everyday observations in the big city, from which Alex dreams up entire stories — preferably with a pinch of utopia.

Maria Păcurariu was born in Nuremberg in 2002 and studied as a scholarship holder from the Studienstiftung for Psychology, Philosophy, Political Sciences and Literary Writing in Berlin and Leipzig. She works as a freelance journalist and writes poetry, prose and scenic texts. Among other things, she is interested in faith, oral history and states of emergency. She likes long train rides and watercolors.

Alice Muitoevoli Rugai was born and raised in Tuscany. Alice Muitoevoli Rugai completed foreign languages and literature at the University of Pisa and a master's degree in theatre studies at the FU in Berlin. Alice is currently in the 17th year of Scenic Writing at the UdK. Theatre texts are represented by S.Fischer Theater Verlag. @muitoevoli

Jacquelin Strobel's texts range between the genres of prose, poetry, and essay and have been published in various literary magazines and anthologies. In 2025, she was Berlin student writer-in-residence, during which time she began work on her novel project “Cruelty and Devotion.” Both in her writing and within her master's degree in contemporary literature at the Free University of Berlin, she researches current positions on authorship.

Ella Strübbe, born in 1998, is a journalist, author and Berliner by choice. Her literary work mixes autobiography with fiction until her own memories blur between the lines. She is currently writing her master's thesis on Israeli settlement policy in the West Bank at the Department of Cultural Studies at Humboldt University in Berlin.

Eliana Wojtal She was a writer-in-residence for the StudierendenWerk from August 2024 to January 2025 and was allowed to paint a picture of Berlin with her words on the blog during this time. She is currently discovering new media for herself and letting her environment change her with bared teeth. Now you can find her not only at the universities in this city, but also in the Turtle magazine (e) and collective.

Hannes Zawodnik studied German and Scandinavian literature in Bonn and Bergen. After completing a master's degree in contemporary literature at the Free University of Berlin, he is studying literary writing in Hildesheim. He was shortlisted for the Wortmeldungen Sponsorship Award 2025 and took part in various writing programs, including with Silke Scheuermann, Mariusz Hoffmann and Dilek Güngör.

Xiaohan Zhou says music and words are her wings — they carry her through the worlds of her creativity. With a Babel tower in her head, she paints her life painting, which stretches between soccer and ballet, between Russia and the Basque Country. Like an antenna, she receives and magnifies everything — in poetic language — until she loses herself in a unique emotional world and creates new worlds.
