Can I buy tickets at the box office on site? Can I bring my dog? Do you have a projector? These are questions we are often asked. Here are some of the answers!

For visitors

Is Lettrétage accessible?

Our event room on Veteranenstraße is partially accessible: There is an elevator and a wheelchair-accessible toilet. Please feel free to contact us if you have any particular need for assistance. We will do our best to make your visit to us possible and pleasant.

Is there a box office?

Yes, even if the online pre-sale has expired, you can always come. In this case, please be there at least 15 minutes before the start of the event.

Can I reserve seats?

No, it is not possible to reserve a seat. It is best to arrive around 30 minutes before the start to secure a seat.

Is there a bar?

Yes, we have drinks for sale at every event.

Can I pay for tickets or drinks with a card?

No, unfortunately only cash payments are possible at the box office and at the bar.

Can I bring a dog?

Yes, no problem.

For event organizers

Who can use Lettrétage?

As an anchor institution, we offer our services to Berlin's literary creators for any cultural uses.

Can I rent Lettrétage for private events?

Yes, please send an email request about this to info@lettretage.de.

How many people fit into the event space?

The space on Veteranenstraße can accommodate up to 100 people. Seats for up to 80 people are available.

How is the room equipped?

We have a sound system, microphones, a projector, chairs, and tables. Details can be discussed with the team.

Do I have to take care of the event technology myself?

No, we manage every event with our own staff and also take care of the technology.

Can I charge admission?

Yes, admission fees are paid out in full to the respective organizers.

Can I sell books at my event?

Book sales are permitted but cannot be organized by us. Managing them is your own responsibility.

Is the use of the event space free of charge for literary events and non-public use?

Yes, all literary creators from Berlin's independent scene can use our event space free of charge.

For literary professionals

Do consultations and other services from schreiben&lebenExTRA cost money?

No, participation in all individual and group consultations, the industry meetup, the winter school, the information sessions, webinars and the mentoring program is free of charge.

How do the consultation days work?

We regularly offer consultation days on various topics. The dates are available at www.literaturszene.berlin. If you want to attend one of the consultations, you can book the appointment of your choice using the form linked there. In good time before your booked consultation, we will send you a link for Zoom or a telephone number or directions to our consultation room.

Who are the consultation days aimed at?

The consultation services offered by schreiben&lebenExTRA are aimed at freelance authors, translators, editors and literary organizers from the Berlin area. There are no specific requirements or necessary qualifications for participating in the consultation days.

What topics can I get advice on?

The topics on which we regularly offer consultations include publishing or agency search for authors, customer acquisition for editors and translators, application for scholarships and funding, registration for the artists' social security fund (KSK), problem solving in and organizing work processes, and much more.

Who conducts the consultations?

As a rule, freelance authors, editors, translators and event organizers with many years of professional experience in the Berlin literary scene conduct the consultations. An overview of our current consulting staff is available at ww.w.literaturszene.berlin.

When will the new consultation days be announced?

New consultation days are announced about one to two weeks in advance on our website and in our newsletter.

Where do the consultations take place?

Depending on the consultant, consultations take place either via video conference (via Zoom, no account required!) or on site in our consultation room at Kolonnenstraße 26, 10829 Berlin.

How long do consultations last?

An individual consultation usually takes 45 minutes.

Are the consultations only in German?

No, we offer regular consultations in English, French, Spanish, Russian and other languages. Contact us at anmeldung@literaturszene.berlin to arrange a one-on-one consultation in your language.

All consultation appointments are already booked out. Is there a waiting list?

Yes, you can use the form on www.literaturszene.berlin or send an email to anmeldung@literaturszene.berlin to be put on the waiting list for a fully booked consultation day. If there is an appointment available at short notice, we will get in touch with you.

I don't need a detailed consultation, but I have a specific question. Can I still contact you?

Of course, feel free to get in touch and we'll try to answer your question ourselves. You can also come to one of our monthly group consultations to ask the project team your question.

What is the Industry Meetup: Literature?

Since 2016, the Industry Meetup: Literature has brought together solo self-employed people from the literary sector once a year to discuss current topics and political developments on the literary scene in working groups, panels, lectures and workshops, to network and acquire knowledge. It usually takes place in May.

How can I take part in the industry meetup?

The program for the industry meetup will be published approximately one month in advance on www.literaturszene.berlin. You'll be able to register for the individual program items then.

Will the industry meetup only take place in German?

The majority of the industry meetup is held in German, but there are also individual English-language events.

Can I also take part in the industry meetup online?

No, the Industry Meetiup: Literature is primarily a face-to-face event.

Renting K26

What uses is K26 suitable for?

K26 is primarily suitable for training courses, conferences, seminars/webinars, lectures, presentations with up to 120 participants. Please contact us with your specific event idea!

Are furniture and technical equipment included in the rental price?

Yes, all existing equipment is already included in the rental price. These include: chairs and tables, podium, daylight projector, sound system, wireless microphones, flip charts, presentation case and much more. If you are missing something, talk to us!

Is K26 barrier-free/wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the K26 is wheelchair accessible. We strive to make our offering barrier-free. Please contact us on a case-by-case basis - we will try to make your visit to the event possible and pleasant.

Can I also rent K26 for private parties?

No, K26 is not suitable for private parties due to the required quiet hours. For this purpose, however, we can offer you the Lettrétage studio on Veteranenstraße in Berlin-Mitte. Talk to us!

Does K26 have a kitchen and/or a high-voltage connection?

No, unfortunately there is no kitchen and no 400 volt connection.
