SPOKEN MATTER RADIO

Andreas Bülhoff and Marc Matter invite you to their first evening with Tabea Nixdorff, Monique Ulrich, and Mathias Traxler as part of their publishing project for acoustic poetic experiments. Be there live when experimental audio pieces are created in a mixture of radio, podcast, reading, performance, dappening, and language-based DJ set.
For this edition, ULRICH NIXDORFF present their latest project – SOUNDING OUT (READING PARATEXTS) – in which they draw on paratexts (texts that accompany the actual body of text, such as dedications or footnotes) found in libraries and archives. These locations themselves add a paratextual layer: How did the collections they found come about, and what brought the artist duo there? The reading performance SOUNDING OUT (READING PARATEXTS) explores the ‘beside’ of paratexts as a place and listens to them as testimonies to the many work steps and collective efforts involved in the creation of a book. Celebrate with us the release of their cassette, which will be available that evening!
In ACCENTS, Mathias Traxler moves in a realm of gaps, breaks, interjections, and vocal improvisations. Silence and words enter the room almost simultaneously. Similar to a concert, when you look back and think that it is still going on, moments are shaped into creative form. A cassette by Mathias will be released shortly on Spoken Matter.
The evening will be rounded off with the performance AGAIN AS by Andreas Bülhoff and Marc Matter, in which individual words are looped on record players in such a way that linguistic repetition and distortion give way to musicality.
