COUNTER/VIOLENCE

On International Women's Day, eight authors read prose and poetry—full of irony, tragedy, absurdity, and contemporary relevance.
Like sea levels, the number of femicides is rising incessantly, and violence is growing. Women are disappearing from political office. Are we losing our courage? Where does violence against women begin? What are the tips of the icebergs, and how deep are the cracks? When does ignorance or unawareness turn into structural violence, and which structures remain on the surface? And when does “against violence” turn into counter-violence?
On International Women's Day, we don't just want to ask questions, we want to give space to words that create a basis, a foundation on which we can meet.
Admission is on a donation basis in aid of the Women's Shelter Coordination in Berlin.
