Unmuted

KROSS COLLECTIVE presents: UNMUTED — Womxn in Experimental Sound
UNMUTED begins as the pilot of a new event series dedicated to womxn working in experimental music. In a scene that often celebrates sonic exploration yet still reflects structural imbalances, womxn remain strikingly underrepresented. UNMUTED aims to shift that dynamic by bringing these practices to the foreground.
The title suggests a simple gesture with larger implications: what has been muted becomes audible. The series creates a listening space where experimental sound by womxn is not peripheral, but central.
The evening unfolds as a deep listening format, with two extended live performances of 40–60 minutes each and a generous pause between them. Rather than quick showcases, the focus is on immersion, attention, and the slow development of sound.
