Seit 2006 finden in der Lettrétage ca. 120 öffentliche Literaturveranstaltungen jährlich statt – Lesungen, Workshops, Diskussionsrunden, literarische Performances und Formate dazwischen. Bekannte und unbekannte Autor*innen und Künstler*innen verschiedener Sprachen und Nationalitäten sind hier schon aufgetreten.

Seit 2013 liegt der Programmfokus u.a. auf neuen Wegen der literarischen Präsentation und Live-Produktion: Dazu zählen u.a. die internationalen bzw. transnationalen Literaturfestivals „Soundout!“, „¿Comment!“, „Berlinisi“ und „Syn_Energy“, aber auch das viel beachtete Netzwerkprojekt „CROWD“ und multimediale Projekte wie die Reihe „CON_TEXT“ oder das „Poetry Audio Lab“. Als Ankerinstitution für die freie Literaturszene Berlins stellt die Lettrétage außerdem ihre Räume für Literaturveranstaltungen aller Art zur Verfügung. Zahlreiche freie Veranstalter*innen nutzen unsere Infrastruktur regelmäßig – für Literatur-Workshops, Lesereihen in verschiedenen Sprachen und Buchpräsentationen.     kilmé talks with Ghayath Almadhoun

    Kilmé is a monthly talk series dedicated to Palestinian artists, intellectuals, and academics; a platform to present their work and speak about subjects that are important to them. Kilmé means word in Arabic. The organizers are dedicated to presenting palestinian voices in all of their diversity and creativity, thus contributing to the cultural landscape of Berlin, a city with the largest Palestinian population in Europe.

    In the January issue of kilmé talks, Ghayath Almadhoun will be the guest. The evening will be moderated by Tyme Khleifi and Michael Barenboim.

    Ghayath Almadhoun is a Palestinian poet born in Damascus in 1979 and moved to Sweden in 2008. He writes poetry and has been translated into nearly 30 languages. Currently, he lives between Berlin and Stockholm. Almadhoun has published five collections of poetry in Arabic, the latest being "Adrenaline" in 2017 and "I Brought You a Severed Hand" in 2024, both published in Arabic by Almutawassit in Milan. In 2022/2023, Almadhoun curated and edited the German poetry anthology Kontinentaldrift – Das Arabische Europa, which included 31 Arabic poets living in Europe, translated it into German and published it bilingually in German and Arabic with a long foreword on Arabic poetry. The anthology was published in Germany in September 2023, by Verlag das Wunderhorn in collaboration with the Haus für Poesie in Berlin.

    Lettering & Calligraphy

    Bitte machen Sie sich mit unseren Coronamaßnahmen vertraut.

    "Lettering and Calligraphy" continues with another meetup in October. Participants are invited to work on their projects and share their thoughts and ideas. Everybody is welcome. Beginner and advanced. What to bring: words to design, pen & paper, sketchbook. There will be worksheets for alphabets for newbies or anyone who wants to practice an alphabet.

    The number of participants is limited to 10 people max to ensure enough space for everyone and to stick to the hygiene and physical distance rules. Registration will be possible about two weeks before the workshop.

    The meetup will take place at Methfesselstraße 23-25, 10965 Berlin.
