Seit 2006 finden in der Lettrétage ca. 120 öffentliche Literaturveranstaltungen jährlich statt – Lesungen, Workshops, Diskussionsrunden, literarische Performances und Formate dazwischen. Bekannte und unbekannte Autor*innen und Künstler*innen verschiedener Sprachen und Nationalitäten sind hier schon aufgetreten.
Seit 2013 liegt der Programmfokus u.a. auf neuen Wegen der literarischen Präsentation und Live-Produktion: Dazu zählen u.a. die internationalen bzw. transnationalen Literaturfestivals „Soundout!“, „¿Comment!“, „Berlinisi“ und „Syn_Energy“, aber auch das viel beachtete Netzwerkprojekt „CROWD“ und multimediale Projekte wie die Reihe „CON_TEXT“ oder das „Poetry Audio Lab“. Als Ankerinstitution für die freie Literaturszene Berlins stellt die Lettrétage außerdem ihre Räume für Literaturveranstaltungen aller Art zur Verfügung. Zahlreiche freie Veranstalter*innen nutzen unsere Infrastruktur regelmäßig – für Literatur-Workshops, Lesereihen in verschiedenen Sprachen und Buchpräsentationen. © Sonja Heyer Berlin UMBRELLA ist ein poetischer Soundwalk mit Hörregenschirmen durch den Viktoria-Park in Berlin Kreuzberg. In einem Gedicht der englischen Poetin Stephanie Green, vertont von der Berliner Klangkünstlerin Sonja Heyer, wird die Spree von ihren drei Quellen bis zu ihrer Mündung akustisch eingefangen und erzählt vom eiszeitlichen Ursprung in der Oberlausitz über die Entwicklung des Radialsystems, vom Mord an Rosa Luxemburg an der Lichtensteinbrücke 1919 bis zum Fall der Mauer 1989, von der wechselvollen Geschichte und Gegenwart der Stadt. Berlin UMBRELLA umfasst sechs Verse, die – gleich einem Haiku – in selbstgewählter Reihenfolge gehört werden können. Besucher*innen können Hörregenschirme im Café Golgatha leihen und damit durch den Park spazieren, verweilen und Schirme mit anderen Besucher*innen tauschen.

Berlin UMBRELLA is a poetry/sound 'aural walk' on the theme of water where participants listen to poetry and the sound of water recordings from a tiny loudspeaker within an umbrella whilst walking through the park. The 6 different sequences are inspired by the river Spree - geological and ecological, folklore and history. Ranging from glacial origins to cholera epidemics, 19th c water 'palaces' (pumping stations), Nazi atrocities and Cold War tragedies up to the fall of the Berlin wall and contemporary issues, the poems are interwoven with natural water sounds recorded at the exact spot in places mentioned in the poetry including the source of the river in the Lausatian mountains, the 'old wheezer' pump at Friedrichshagen 19th c Pumping Station and the river bank where Rosa Luxemburg's corpse surfaced. The poems are a mixture of small, haiku-like images suggesting water-drops and more fluid, longer poems imitating a river's flow. Linear thought is interrupted with fragmentary images, connected, then disconnected, reforming, looping, unrolling like film intercut with flashbacks, like memory, past and present at the same time. Different sonic patterns, vibrations and rhythms also suggest light glinting on water or the flow of a river. The poetry is conceived as a sort of libretto melding with the sound patterns of recordings creating an immersive experience.
© privat Stephanie Green is Anglo-Irish, born in England, with a BA from Trinity College Dublin (1970) and MPhil from Glasgow University (2004). Her pamphlet 'Glass Works' (Cat's Pyjamas Publications, 2005) was shortlisted for the Callum McDonald Award. Recently a pamphlet 'Flout' inspired by Shetland was published by 'HappenStance', 2015, launching at StAnza Poetry Festival. She also has a novel for teenagers 'The Triple Spiral' published by Walker Books, 1989 and several scripts broadcast on BBC Schools Radio. She has previously collaborated with composers, choreographers and Fine Artists. Working part-time as a Dance critic, she lives in Edinburgh. Website 
© privat Sonja Heyer studierte Musik, Anthropologie sowie Sound Studies. Seit 2010 entwickelt sie Lautsprecherkompositionen für Klanginstallationen (klang orte berlin: berlin sonic places; ars electronica; Weltausstellung der Reformation) sowie Hörstücke für Radio. Der Sound Walk UMBRELLA gastiert seit 2014 an verschiedenen Orten Europas und Asiens und verwandelt dokumentarisches und prosaisches Material in ein mobiles Hörerlebnis. Berlin UMBRELLA greift erstmals Poesie auf. Sonja Heyer lebt und arbeitet als Musikerin und Künstlerin in Berlin und Mecklenburg/Vorpommern. www.sonjaheyer.de

(c) Soul and the City The project Soul and the City is thrilled to continue with their "Love, Sweat and Laughter" series of events, which allow an outlet for different types of arts to manifest, intertwine and grow together with the purpose of creating a culturally diverse tapestry of thought-provoking expressions, up-close emotions and in-depth gestures, leaving positive imprints of social engagement and political awareness.
Some of Berlin's coolest artists will gather together to present their witty performances in an enjoyable, friendly and slammin' atmosphere refilled with love, sweat and laughter, the right impetus for the entire night.
Performing artists from: France, USA, UK, The Netherlands, South Africa, Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Italy, Brazil and more.
This is a multi-gender, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural event meant to bring joy and good times. No sexist, racist, bigoted, discriminatory, xenophobic or homophobic language will be tolerated.
